David Bowie wrote songs, above all, about being an outsider: an alien, a misfit, a sexual adventurer, a faraway astronaut. RIP to a great artist, whose capacity to delight, challenge and shock stayed with him until the end. I like that his message was that there has to be always empathy beyond difference.
In his last email to Brian Eno, he wrote: Thank you for our good times, Brian. They will never rot’. Indeed, good times with friends in rock’n’roll will never rot. Amen to that.
