All my life, I fought that fight
The fight that no man can ever win
Every day it just gets harder to live
The dream you’re believing in

Allegedly, Bruce wrote Cover Me for Donna Summer, but Jon Landau thought it was too good to give away. So he wrote Protection to be sung as a duet, and they recorded it as such, but the label didn’t like the way it was working out, and made it a solo for Donna Summer. You can hear the E Street band, and Bruce, on her track, particularly at the end. If you want, that is. We stick to the Bruce version, though! 🙂
Ok Santa I’ve been good, so very good!
